Head of National Rail Contract Performance – Avanti Jobs in Portsmouth

Job Description:

The Head of National Rail Contract Performance will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Emergency Recovery Measures Agreement (ERMA) scoring regime. You will be responsible for ensuring West Coast Partnership maximise our chances of getting the highest possible score on the ERMA scorecard.

Job Responsibilities:

• You will work with colleagues right across the business to improve business processes, recording the steps taken to improve and monitoring the delivery of benefits.
• You will draw on your extensive knowledge of the rail industry and the rail regulatory environment, particularly the priorities of the Department for Transport and HM Treasury to be proactive in identifying any areas for improvement in West Coast Partnership’s evidence and/or business processes.

Job Requirements:

• Excellent understanding of the main areas of activity of Train Operating Companies
• Highly experienced in working with Franchise Agreements
• Highly experienced in commercial and contract management
• Highly experienced in working with suppliers and maintainers of rolling stock
• Understanding of the requirements of the Bribery Act, particularly its reference to relationships with public servants
• Able to produce high-quality reports to senior boards, with clear descriptions of risks and opportunities
• Highly experienced in negotiation of commercial contracts
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of the rail regulatory environment, including Department for Transport, Office of
• Rail Regulation, Network Rail, Rail Safety Standards Board, Scottish and Welsh Governments, sub-national Transport Bodies
• An extremely effective and compelling communicator in all forms
