The Work Coach is a rewarding and key role in the Jobcentre. You will be helping people and their families towards financial independence through work and enabling them to get the support they need as they move towards this ambition.
Work Coaches are customer focused, dedicated individuals with empathy and compassion and able to deliver an exceptional public service to people who need support.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Offering quality advice to customers about job search actions
  • Developing an in-depth knowledge of local employment opportunities, recognising the roles that our Partners and Employers have in helping our customers secure employment.
  • Building positive relationships with customers that encourages, motivates and builds trust.
  • Making timely decisions, based on customer needs, and referring them to appropriate help and support.
  • Providing support to Universal Credit, Jobseekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance & Income Support customers.

Job Requirements:

  • You must be able to navigate a range of computer systems to action tasks as well as coach others to use digital work searching.
  • To be successful you will need to demonstrate effective communication skills across a wide range of diverse customers, along with the ability to understand complex information and give explanations to the customer.
  • You’ll also be required to handle telephony queries and have the ability to manage difficult situations.
