Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • The selected candidate will draft and develop evidence-based policing standards and guidance within specific area of subject matter expertise, engaging with, consulting and advising police forces, agencies and other stakeholder organisations, to support the promotion and embedding of professional practice across policing.
  • Share knowledge and good practice – We create and maintain easy access to knowledge, disseminate good practice, and facilitate the sharing of what works.
  • Set standards – We set standards for key areas of policing which help forces and individuals provide consistency and better service for the public.
  • Support professional development – We set requirements, accredit, quality assure and deliver learning and professional development, promote diversity and wellbeing, and help to nurture and select leaders at all levels.

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience of working successfully with organisations and/or communities to improve service delivery and implement new ways of working.
  • Experience of implementing change management and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, establishing and maintaining positive working relationships and removing unnecessary barriers to service delivery.
  • Experience in the production of statistics and management information.
  • Up-to-date subject matter expertise and evidence of CPD in the subject areas for the post.
  • Ability to build and retain credibility as an authority/source on current and emerging issues within the subject area and associated application of good practice and standards.

Qualification & Experience:

  • A degree or equivalent level 5 qualification and/or significant equivalent work experience in area of subject matter expertise
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Experience of problem-solving and using an evidence-based approach to develop and/or establish standards for professional practice in private and/or public sector organisations.
