An exciting opportunity to lead, develop, and deliver, an innovative, responsive, professional and proactive specialist support service for students. The post holder will have clinical responsibility the service provision and strategic leadership and management of the University’s Wellbeing services and wider wellbeing initiatives across the University.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
You will lead, develop, and deliver, an innovative, responsive, professional and proactive specialist support service for students and will have clinical responsibility of the service provision and strategic leadership and management of the University’s Wellbeing services and wider wellbeing initiatives across the University.
The role will require you to set standards to ensure the appropriate clinical, administrative, reporting, and ethical systems are in place for this critical service and the management of change to ensure that the department develops in line with emerging internal and external agendas critical to the university’s development and success.
In addition to this you will ensure an effective service delivery to students, develop appropriate tools to evaluate service quality and provide key performance and management data, and ensure effective oversight of outsourced services and suppliers and provide expert professional advice and reports for University committees as appropriate on the work of the Wellbeing teams.
Duties will also include managing Wellbeing budgets, including budget planning and forecasting and managing the various income streams associated with disability funding and providing expert advice, support, and guidance to staff on issues related to student risk, cause for concern, vulnerability, and work with external agencies where appropriate.
Skills And Experience Needed
You must have substantial proven experience of working with children and young people and evidence of significant proven experience and an excellent track record in a similar field or role, specifically dealing with a wide range of student issues. In addition to this you will have substantial in-depth experience of working with clients from a diverse range of cultural and socio-economic groups.
For this role you will have a sound understanding of the legal and regulatory aspects of the role and be able to demonstrate the ability to apply a breadth or depth of experience, knowledge, and proficiency of their own area of expertise and act as a point of reference to others. You must also have a proven record of managing a multi-disciplinary team, developing services which support a safe & inclusive learning environment.
Excellent communication skills both oral and written at all levels and outstanding interpersonal skills will be expected. In addition to this you will have the ability to select the appropriate management style with different people to achieve optimum results.
Qualifications Required
You must be educated to a minimum of a postgraduate master’s level in a clinical qualification, or equivalent. In addition to this you will need to hold accreditation, registration with an appropriate recognised professional body e.g., BACP, BPS (or eligible) and hold a recognised professional qualification in Clinical Supervision.
This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
