Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to play a leading role in Flood & Coastal Risk Management in East Anglia Area. The Environment Agency is investing £5.2billion between now and 2027 to reduce flood risk to 336,000 homes across the UK and improve the environment. We’re looking for an organised and highly motivated individual with the right technical skills and experience for a senior programme management position. The team covers East Anglia and is made up of ~12 staff based in multiple locations across the area. The team works closely with project managers, local asset experts, various national teams and consultants in order to develop, manage and deliver the FCRM programmes.  A review of FCRM departments is underway; this role may change subject to the outcome of this review. Part of this role will support the team through such a change.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will thrive as part of an experienced team, managing risks and issues and forging collaborative relationships with peers, other Risk Management Authorities, suppliers, and delivery partners.
  • You’ll be responsible for providing regular, accurate and timely updates on progress, including to a monthly Portfolio Delivery Board, the National Programme Management Office and each quarter to the Regional Flood and Coastal Committee.
  • You’ll become a key member of the Flood and Coastal Risk Management, helping to shape the direction of the team and the wider department
  • You may take on line management responsibilities too.
  • Alongside your core role, you’ll also be trained and exercised to play an important role responding to a range of environmental incidents and emergencies.
