The school wish to appoint, at the earliest opportunity, an enthusiastic individual to support the provision and management of resources within their School Library and Learning Resource Centres.

An opportunity has arisen for a Librarian to join a highly successful school. It will be an exciting time to join the school as their brand-new library is to be part of the imminent building of two new teaching blocks. They are also starting a new whole school literacy project and a renewed focus on reading, to which the role of librarian will be integral.

It offers an excellent opportunity for a graduate with a library qualification or substantial background in libraries to gain experience of managing subscriptions and supervising a member of staff and to develop their skills in enquiry work. An effective team worker is required with good communication and IT skills and the ability to pay attention to detail and to work accurately. Some knowledge of legal materials and a European language is desirable but not essential.

The ideal candidate will have vision, enthusiasm and excellent organisation and decision-making skills, and possess the capacity to increase the whole school curriculum impact of the library in the coming years. Applicants should be degree educated and have a qualification in librarianship.
