HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) along with Revenue & Customs Digital Technology Services (RCDTS) are embarking on an ambitious and challenging digital transformation programme which will result in HMRC becoming one of the most digitally advanced tax authorities in the world. The Chief Data Office (CDO) plays a key role in building a professional efficient and engaged data centric organisation, to ensure HMRC properly governs, manages and exploits its data to improve revenues, transform tax and payments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to project governance activities including planning, progress reporting, risk an issue management, dependency identification, assumption capture and review;
- Devise and get approval for the data migration strategy for the implementation phase;
- Provide independent assurance on all matters involving data migration for the ITSA project to HMRC including the role and contribution of suppliers and internal delivery groups;
- Support all aspects of the project lifecycle including agile pre-discover, discovery, design development, build, test and implementation into live;
- Identify and support development of all data security products with stakeholders;
- Review gaps and supporting IT architects, suppliers and delivery groups in the development of technical approach for data migration during discovery and the solution
- Document any observations and hold a lessons learnt exercise at the end of design phase to improve and derisk future activities;
- Identify the optimum data migration roadmap for the ITSA project based on its functional and non-functional delivery roadmap;
- Support HMRC governance processes for ITSA migration project including attendance, presentation and communications at all levels

- Has worked in a complex, multi-priority organization
- Proven data migration expertise
- Agile project methodologies
- Has worked within multiple suppliers and delivery teams for projects of very large size and strategic importance
