About the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Eurostar IS team as an Infrastructure Architect – Networks & Unified Communications. As the subject matter expert within the organization for all things networking and communications systems related you are responsible for ensuring that current and future systems are fit for purpose and optimally delivered for the benefit of Eurostar.

We are looking for someone to…
- Provide technical expertise to deliver the strategy for voice, data and mobile network infrastructure across Eurostar. This includes, but is not limited to: LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, Voice Systems, Call Centre Telephony, Voice Recording, Circuits, 4G/5G networks, Dealer Turret Technology
- Ensure Network & Communications systems roadmap is continually up to date and communicated well. Liaise with project delivery functions to ensure initiatives are accurately planned and budgeted
- Capture business requirements and translate these into detailed technical designs for implementation
- Provide technical direction and guidance to the business on projects
- Validation of scopes, plans, design documents and other artefacts relating to the network, that are produced internally or by third party suppliers
- Ensure solutions are secure by design and adhere to best practice security and corporate InfoSec guidance. Work with the Information Security Manager to develop security response procedures
- Monitor voice and data network service environments to ensure they meet Eurostar standards and procedures
- Liaise with 3rd parties to deliver Eurostar voice and data network infrastructure
- Participate in architectural design reviews across all areas of IS Infrastructure to ensure an integrated and resilient infrastructure
- Produce options and recommendations to assist with business cases for the adoption of new technologies and solutions
- Design cost effective solutions that meet the requirements and strategic aims of Eurostar
- Help define and document infrastructure standards and procedures
- Identify risks to IS Infrastructure and assist by recommending controls to manage these
- Ensure changes to systems are tested, documented and communicated effectively
- Assist the Service Delivery function with Service Management ensuring adherence to SLA/KPI’s
- Provide technical direction and leadership within the scope of specialist knowledge area for the resolution of major enterprise systems outages, incidents or problems
- Engage with peers and stakeholders, both within IS and the wider business, to identify opportunities and deliver improvement through new technology adoption and new ways of working
- Manage and co-ordinate 3rd party vendors for the delivery of projects and changes
- Manage own growth and development to ensure skills remain current and relevant to support the successful uptake of new technologies within the business
- Occasional foreign travel is required for this role which you will need to be able to undertake
Essential
Requirements
- Experience of designing and delivering enterprise class networking and comms infrastructure solutions
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in an Information Technology subject.
- Strong knowledge of LAN, Wi-Fi, WAN (MPLS/SD-WAN), 4G/5G Mobile Data, Firewall Technologies, IP addressing, routing and switching
- Strong working knowledge and experience of designing and implementing best security practices
- Good knowledge of Call Centre Technology and Core Components
- Good understanding of VOIP technology, SIP, Unified Communications and Collaboration systems integration
- Experience of networking within Public Cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google, etc)
- Good understanding of trading turret and voice recording technology
- Awareness of industry best practices in the voice and data networking field
- Experience of vendor management
- Ability to influence people and drive discussions. Ability to communicate with all levels of staff both internally and externally
- Experience of working closely with offshore infrastructure Managed Service Providers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as good presentation skills
- Ability to absorb new technical, commercial and business concepts quickly
- Strong knowledge of emerging technologies and of how they can enhance the functions of the business.

- Prince 2 Qualified
- ITIL Qualification
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP or equivalent professional experience
- Good written and spoken French
- Expertise of working with the following manufacturer equipment: Meraki, Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Palo Alto, Meraki, Etrali, Nice
