Job Description:

You don’t need to be a planning professional but an expert in dealing with customers. This new post is there to improve the communications and customer experience of our Service, and help us to both respond to their needs and forge stronger relationships with them. This is a fixed term contract for 24 months

Job Responsibilities:

• To be responsible for designing and delivering key stakeholder liaison arrangements with the most frequent users of the Service
• Project manage Customer Service-related projects for the Service
• Lead on communications and customer engagement work on behalf of the Planning Service
• To work collaboratively in a different and creative way with partners to ensure that the right services are being delivered in the right way to customers
• To be responsible for designing and reporting on customer service KPIS and feedback mechanisms
• To provide a ‘front door’ for customer service queries and complaints for the Planning Service and work collaboratively with colleagues to co-ordinate responsive actions

Job Requirements:

• Able to cope with pressure and in difficult, sometimes confrontational situations
• Success in influencing and persuading stakeholders and partners and encouraging participation
• Ability to build effective relationships and achieve co-operation from others
• Creative problem solving skills

Qualification & Experience:

• Degree in a relevant subject or a extensive knowledge of the services provided by local authorities and Local Planning Authorities in particular
