An opportunity has arisen to join Eurostar as its Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer’ .

The International Quality Engineer is part of HSQE team and works closely with the Quality Assurance Engineer and the Document Controller to ensure high standards of quality are achieved within the organization, both in UK (IRS and local approved suppliers) and in the continent (SNCF, SNCB etc.).

You will assist the Quality Manager in ensuring alignment with BS EN ISO9001 requirements (QMS), driving continuous improvement as a methodology in all areas across Rolling Stock, including any non-conformance and defining and carrying out regular internal audits.

This position is based in our Engineering Center in Leyton. The role requires occasional travel in France and in the UK.

Requirements

We are looking for someone to…

• Liaise with the Quality Assurance Engineer to aid and advice to the IRS departments on Quality topics.
• Execute the annual ‘IRS internal Audit Program’ by conducting internal audits in compliance to ISO9001 requirements.
• Execute the annual ‘Safety Critical Supplier Audit Program’ by conducting supplier audits related to the maintenance of EIL rolling stock by partner servicing depots in France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Check the compliance with the defined maintenance regime and contractual requirements. Follow up the raised non conformances and create actions status reports.
• Act as a facilitator and ambassador for Eurostar to help make the most of opportunities for collaborative working with maintenance partners for mutual benefit
• Manage the international non-conformance process (EF010). Identify non-conformance and raise them for all the locations where maintenance is performed, or parts are repaired. Follow up the action plans for closure of non-conformance. Provide KPI’s and actions status reports to HSQE.
• Organise quality meetings with IRS stakeholders in relation to identified quality issues.
• Support the Quality Manager with external audits in compliance to BS EN ISO 9001 requirements.
• Support the Quality Manager with the implementation of processes in compliance to the ECM requirements.
• Participate in the management of operational safety incidents and investigations.

You’ll need …

• Proficiency in French & English (written and spoken)
• Established experience in quality management (ISO9001)
• ISO9001 Auditor
• Experience of working in a maintenance environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Structured logical and analytical approach
• Self-motivated to deliver excellence
• The ability to work within deadlines and under pressure
• To be process driven for continuous improvement
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills

Desirable

• Experience in the railway industry
• IRCA/CQI membership or working towards
• Knowledge of railway industry standards
