About the job

This roll will support the Service Families Accommodation (SFA) Capital Purchase Programme. This is a multimillion pound programme to deliver new homes for service families that are fit for modern family living and fully embrace sustainability and the drive to deliver homes Net Zero Carbon (NZC) in occupation.

You will be part of a small team with wide interaction with other DIO departments and contractors that support the purchase activities and Housing developers providing the houses.

You will play a key role in coordinating the activities of stakeholders and maintaining the relevant data bases and producing supporting information to support business cases for new purchases.

This is a growing and fast moving programme that has to agile to meet the other projects and programmed in defence. A key component of service live is the provision of living accommodation not only for Service personnel but for Service families. The capital purchase programme supports numerous projects and programmes and is central to ensuring SFA is available to support families and allow the delivery of military capability.

The need to be able to communicate effectively at multiple levels and provide timely and accurate information and help drive projects forward will present challenges which will need to be addressed and resolved.

DIO Accn is committed to upgrading and delivering energy efficient and sustainable homes. The department will in 2023/24 deliver the fist large scale NZC housing development setting the standards for sustainable homes for the MOD.

The Programme is delivering modern sustainable home for families, delivering on the sustainability commitments of defence and setting the standards for living accommodation. It is supporting the drive to reduce carbon emissions and provide homes and neighbourhoods that are pleasant to live in.

DIO Accn are leading the way in the delivery of sustainable homes. The challenge in not justifying there is a need it is delivering that need and upholding the commitment in the Armed Forces Covenant, that where military accommodation is provided it should be of ‘good quality’.
